Sweet Spring Challenge

A friend of mine is going through a rough time right now, so I made this card to cheer her up.

I used Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise and Stamper's Select White cardstocks from Papertrey Ink, along with matching inks for the flowers and sentiment.  I also used Smokey Shadow ink for the little frame, which I stamped off once to make it a little lighter.  The butterfly is stamped in Hibiscus Burst.  All of the stamps used are from the Pretty Peonies stamp set.  I added some random ribbon that I had and a few Swarovski hot fix crystals for a little extra dimension.

I figured I'd enter it in the February Blog Hop Challenge for Papertrey Ink.  Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

I like the theme for this month's challenge, because I'm TOTALLY SICK OF WINTER!  This winter has been the coldest winter I can remember and we've had a TON of snow.  I'm totally over it!  Of course, as soon as spring rolls around I'll be miserable with allergies, so maybe I should just count my blessings and not rush things.  :)

Paper Smooches: Fun & Cute Challenge (part 2)

So I have one more card to enter in the Fun & Cute Challenge at Paper Smooches.

Here's another Valentine which I made for another of my nieces.

Again I used all solid papers from Papertrey Ink except for the patterned paper which is from My Mind's Eye.  The adorable little girl and sentiment are from another Darcie's set called Raindrop Kisses.

I paper pieced her raincoat and boots and added a cute button brad.  Her hair and skin is colored with Copics.

There's lots of dimension on this card!  I used different thicknesses of pop dots and dimensionals to pop up my little girl, my sentiment panel and the die cut hearts [I used a die from Lil' Inker Designs for those adorable little hearts!]

Well, that's it for now!  Happy Valentine's Day!  <3

Paper Smooches: Fun & Cute Challenge (part 1)

I'm playing along today with the Fun & Cute Challenge over at Paper Smooches!

This is a Valentine card that I made for one of my nieces.

The stamps are from Darcie's which you can find HERE.  [This set is called My Sunshine.]  All my solid papers are from Papertrey Ink and the patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye.  I colored my card with copics.

For a little extra dimension I decided to fussy cut the umbrella and pop it up with dimensionals.

I had fun making this card, and I think the little birds are cute.  Get it?  Fun & Cute!  {challenge accepted}
