The card I'm sharing in this post is for the My Favorite Things <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wsc431/" target="_blank">Wednesday Sketch Challenge</a>, and here is the sketch for the week.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/MFT_WSC_431-768x967.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="635" height="320" src="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/MFT_WSC_431-768x967.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a mixture of papers from <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/" target="_blank">My Favorite Things</a> and <a href="https://www.papertreyink.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a> for this one. The cute </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
puppy paws were diecut with one of the dies from Paw Prints Die-namics. I die cut them from the white base so that I could inlay the colored pieces into it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisNJsCzy5dYMKDCkMj7CVZj9J7cbnqq91pA32xXhapg0m7CcSlwlWIbLyOwM7uSXZVqdRG_4IgpSAIlvIEvEN8RYbCjVwY2cAqRo3189Nf08CSPi0cP5faPaYbWoRDu1tZIQLEFVafDQ8/s1600/20181118_133545.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1322" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisNJsCzy5dYMKDCkMj7CVZj9J7cbnqq91pA32xXhapg0m7CcSlwlWIbLyOwM7uSXZVqdRG_4IgpSAIlvIEvEN8RYbCjVwY2cAqRo3189Nf08CSPi0cP5faPaYbWoRDu1tZIQLEFVafDQ8/s640/20181118_133545.jpg" width="528" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sentiment on the front is from the MFT Lucky Dog stamp set.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO5TRKtjKQ6W1wMyrBsBjTwtEjFwoGkBQNEmpQt45cPd6TIDEq7Iur_DRxOPqZ_qqvtBMT_zUM_W8l6fON2fVbUsES_-V_xcnhPeAlXg_ccn9D-bQNkloAqIuFykJlfN8eemAQ4lOypIY/s1600/20181118_133553.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1166" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO5TRKtjKQ6W1wMyrBsBjTwtEjFwoGkBQNEmpQt45cPd6TIDEq7Iur_DRxOPqZ_qqvtBMT_zUM_W8l6fON2fVbUsES_-V_xcnhPeAlXg_ccn9D-bQNkloAqIuFykJlfN8eemAQ4lOypIY/s640/20181118_133553.jpg" width="466" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the inside of the card, I stamped a cute sentiment from the retired set called Friends Like Us. I really enjoy the snarky sentiments in that set. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also used a thank you sentiment from another stamp set, but can't think of the name at the moment. I'll edit the post later to include it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSXN0B74SKyzXB0ghyLA2AUUGr13g4SJN2Iw-PHUxG_snA8BiK10dJxdnz2mgdQjkAxzxiGnh7j2k_RsEzW0LqrgX06xG9lT_TH2qsEPIyLcXkk3LjMKr1Cw56v99BqrVGmg8qQRuUm0A/s1600/20181118_133618.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1334" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSXN0B74SKyzXB0ghyLA2AUUGr13g4SJN2Iw-PHUxG_snA8BiK10dJxdnz2mgdQjkAxzxiGnh7j2k_RsEzW0LqrgX06xG9lT_TH2qsEPIyLcXkk3LjMKr1Cw56v99BqrVGmg8qQRuUm0A/s640/20181118_133618.jpg" width="532" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And to tie together the front and inside of the card, I also added a cute little bull-dog from the Lucky Dog set. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

One of my favorite stamp companies, Altenew, is celebrating their 5th Anniversary; and I'm here today to celebrate along with them. Below are a few of my favorite cards that I have made using their amazing stamps and coordinating dies. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC8YwbJ97uwLbETDBW-rKDB5dpgNLwN64ZzxCLP7AfvYPzUZsXbSp683SpWM9QfVQAVF8h8sGo1G6li7aP_Iv8CnMsRhHZev_R-xPd3f451jPoIw39r9TFTwqdP7hOVg43EoBy2jQJa7I/s1600/20160401_105909.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1013" data-original-width="1360" height="476" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC8YwbJ97uwLbETDBW-rKDB5dpgNLwN64ZzxCLP7AfvYPzUZsXbSp683SpWM9QfVQAVF8h8sGo1G6li7aP_Iv8CnMsRhHZev_R-xPd3f451jPoIw39r9TFTwqdP7hOVg43EoBy2jQJa7I/s640/20160401_105909.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I think this first one is my favorite, because it's so bright and cheerful with the beautiful yellow roses from the Vintage Roses stamp set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZkyIpLWPX-DEYUovJGsSppQxwsVrtN0zPdNgogBekBG7TO3P-za74N1IF9krKKmh8IGoGdtEf-6aJWGU_6x76xPu-mC2bNFQql9tKwmO6oQBb0FwhyphenhyphenjLvXSwhoaRdeXN3rtkxCYeXRKI/s1600/20160401_105815.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1005" data-original-width="1378" height="466" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZkyIpLWPX-DEYUovJGsSppQxwsVrtN0zPdNgogBekBG7TO3P-za74N1IF9krKKmh8IGoGdtEf-6aJWGU_6x76xPu-mC2bNFQql9tKwmO6oQBb0FwhyphenhyphenjLvXSwhoaRdeXN3rtkxCYeXRKI/s640/20160401_105815.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnPa6CGOs30xiWAcz-znjOuzATo4NFWD0uI13PupLihCWHZ4EhuuBtG_GwLeS-_eiIDinyE3dmIeHbeOvF4zPhWOJN0mwWuHIuKhOg1BKmdgGZbGdDqCNS6itLayzsmIELAdaYOWALfNc/s1600/20170125_223610.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1225" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnPa6CGOs30xiWAcz-znjOuzATo4NFWD0uI13PupLihCWHZ4EhuuBtG_GwLeS-_eiIDinyE3dmIeHbeOvF4zPhWOJN0mwWuHIuKhOg1BKmdgGZbGdDqCNS6itLayzsmIELAdaYOWALfNc/s640/20170125_223610.jpg" width="490" /></a></div>
<br />
This next card was kind of outside of my wheelhouse since it has so much gold embossing and accents. I'm not a big fan of gold, but I do love the results on this card. The flowers on this one are from the Peony Bouquet stamp set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUaSTW1XHrWgkfP7v7LGpyZ-OCg_PtZQOoOiOF_B3NUybabo8yeeZCt3o-wOiNGlPzpsWIT63gSSai75vcFBk9kh0oEnZC_zoFCFgXVLZ5ALdwbq1s7XWNrnSPfONJxCQQ7kMykonu6vo/s1600/20170125_223751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1332" data-original-width="1600" height="532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUaSTW1XHrWgkfP7v7LGpyZ-OCg_PtZQOoOiOF_B3NUybabo8yeeZCt3o-wOiNGlPzpsWIT63gSSai75vcFBk9kh0oEnZC_zoFCFgXVLZ5ALdwbq1s7XWNrnSPfONJxCQQ7kMykonu6vo/s640/20170125_223751.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This last one is another bright and cheery one. I love how realistic this rose is from the Beautiful Day stamp set. Every time I use this set, I fall in love with it all over again!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPvJzJ0xyBpwZjPZswOYxg-I7eqQaKVcOmC6eQm8d8LYcfejDL9um0DI8y6pOxxPA2Wf2GWFacpQtsAe7cdplYQFgRLhsr51xWJIGzPi2mB4Gw0SvLTrNz_JlXBipcs3VCM8FvPlVVVNk/s1600/20170517_224120.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1311" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPvJzJ0xyBpwZjPZswOYxg-I7eqQaKVcOmC6eQm8d8LYcfejDL9um0DI8y6pOxxPA2Wf2GWFacpQtsAe7cdplYQFgRLhsr51xWJIGzPi2mB4Gw0SvLTrNz_JlXBipcs3VCM8FvPlVVVNk/s640/20170517_224120.jpg" width="524" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Altenew has come up with some of the most amazingly realistic flower stamps, as well as tons of other fun and whimsical sets besides. I look forward to what they will provide us in the future.<br />
<br />
Happy Anniversary to Altenew!!</div>

I'm back again for another one of <a href="https://blog.papertreyink.com/2019/03/win-it-wednesday-march-13-20/" target="_blank">Laurie's Fabulous Favorites</a> challenges.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The challenge this time was to make the sentiment into the main focal point of the card. I currently need several thank you cards, so I pulled out this Thank You Heart die from Simon Says Stamps.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This first card, and the one I am entering into the challenge, was made with Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet patterned papers. I diecut the sentiment from PTI White Tag Stock twice and glued them together for dimension. Then I glued them onto a piece of the Berry Sorbet striped paper and trimmed around the edges of the diecut before adhering it to my card front. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYmyey4LcpTopPgacnUS3z_UxW-SzGMzi8FW2BT8TNNPD8DLpVm8HqPvPQcSflfYDo042zWwfXvOCS71hMu2eEgcGrrb_oAnUx3jhFKNs5Ge-VmOThhqPVqO2g1r1ye9eLRrrqQHQGL7o/s1600/20190317_142840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYmyey4LcpTopPgacnUS3z_UxW-SzGMzi8FW2BT8TNNPD8DLpVm8HqPvPQcSflfYDo042zWwfXvOCS71hMu2eEgcGrrb_oAnUx3jhFKNs5Ge-VmOThhqPVqO2g1r1ye9eLRrrqQHQGL7o/s640/20190317_142840.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWD1HMC3eme_rCFRUNQYfE902gpxAD9civ6zSt3JAfWA-wYvTtYi5F1IVeV4Qm1uygBTc6wiz6Eqah9MU8IelONwwvQtarDx7FkLkGrcBZzRd2SqCjk7PuBubkBlpgichSY-uuuhKmN2I/s1600/20190317_142846.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWD1HMC3eme_rCFRUNQYfE902gpxAD9civ6zSt3JAfWA-wYvTtYi5F1IVeV4Qm1uygBTc6wiz6Eqah9MU8IelONwwvQtarDx7FkLkGrcBZzRd2SqCjk7PuBubkBlpgichSY-uuuhKmN2I/s640/20190317_142846.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sentiment is from the PTI Thanks All Ways stamp set. I added a cute little diecut heart cut from Berry Sorbet cardstock and covered it with glossy accents just to add a little bling and interest to my sentiment strip.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTnox_8ApGXN-eapfC3UWA7e_axWj4rrnvTlrDOBZ5vy8zyq_M4zVqnLbnDiAdP8gVyXkHW7Aswml6NZBGO9XNM2jQyWP-KKrmfEgQlEIWkraf10k3Btjp9Yxtqgap7Rykn-nb1pBViKY/s1600/20190317_142853.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTnox_8ApGXN-eapfC3UWA7e_axWj4rrnvTlrDOBZ5vy8zyq_M4zVqnLbnDiAdP8gVyXkHW7Aswml6NZBGO9XNM2jQyWP-KKrmfEgQlEIWkraf10k3Btjp9Yxtqgap7Rykn-nb1pBViKY/s640/20190317_142853.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been wanting to try some new techniques for making backgrounds as well, so I decided this was a great time to get fancy with my Distress Inks and Alcohol Inks. This next card just might be my favorite from this post. I created a background with Alcohol Inks and Pearl Mixative on Yupo paper to back my diecut. I totally LOVE how the background turned out!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkQcsVBTKMvGEKHVk_o55cUw7DUyitsaA4UgbwU4mUPa0r-2GzeBVWL2m7QLw5-Q50NqP92UlTxkvmBBDSYCShiMOex_9oBbdQuJcXGYZELw_h-pAu9XPKPxRqndmMU5wJmScOoOXG9UU/s1600/20190317_142658.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkQcsVBTKMvGEKHVk_o55cUw7DUyitsaA4UgbwU4mUPa0r-2GzeBVWL2m7QLw5-Q50NqP92UlTxkvmBBDSYCShiMOex_9oBbdQuJcXGYZELw_h-pAu9XPKPxRqndmMU5wJmScOoOXG9UU/s640/20190317_142658.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That cute, stitched panel is from Mama Elephant's Sew Fancy die set. The die is actually A2 size, but I re-positioned my paper and cut it again to make it a smaller panel. I also used the solid heart die from SSS to cut a window out of the center. Doing so created a cute frame around my diecut.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj87tK3MJdFspKRQbGj9qh6x1Xew0BCXPltarVWIaJO-HJ4WmOdGzz0CZFwrFefddIPJItEOUTpz_icvaXJ4AfnqCG9ZLXWujDCZobwPYz3rbNVKcYMmDwV_IM9ckhkNiXJMRq_EpSyrxk/s1600/20190317_142705.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj87tK3MJdFspKRQbGj9qh6x1Xew0BCXPltarVWIaJO-HJ4WmOdGzz0CZFwrFefddIPJItEOUTpz_icvaXJ4AfnqCG9ZLXWujDCZobwPYz3rbNVKcYMmDwV_IM9ckhkNiXJMRq_EpSyrxk/s640/20190317_142705.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The pretty glitter paper is from an old DCWV pad of glitter papers, and the stamped sentiment is from the MFT Friends Like Us stamp set.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-892dmHk2ACkE7-JmLfwn8j-miEdZGX7YyLgsSdX2kSNLj4z869BEdOmyZpr0WpJTAYCRDa0enMOgg8uqwqVf5Dt7hJzi6ta8VgF7mELe9l3SiOzvrzg2lKYwim0Jh9_CTM8OJKUWYtI/s1600/20190317_142801.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-892dmHk2ACkE7-JmLfwn8j-miEdZGX7YyLgsSdX2kSNLj4z869BEdOmyZpr0WpJTAYCRDa0enMOgg8uqwqVf5Dt7hJzi6ta8VgF7mELe9l3SiOzvrzg2lKYwim0Jh9_CTM8OJKUWYtI/s640/20190317_142801.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next, I have a pair of coordinating cards. I created a panel using emboss resist and Distress Inks, then I diecut the heart from my panel. I used the diecut on one card and the negative panel on the other. The background stamp is called Flower Dot background from Hero Arts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I kept all of the inside pieces of the diecut image and pieced them back into position inside of a white diecut. I also stacked two of the hearts so that the diecut outline stands out from the panel. I decided not to add any other decorations and just let the background do the talking.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the negative pieces of one of my white diecuts to fill in the empty spaces of the heart that I cut from my inked panel and mounted the whole thing on a piece of vellum that was cut with the solid heart die. I created another background for this card by stamping the MFT Arrow Ends Background Builder stamp onto MFT Grout Gray cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Fog ink. I used my MISTI to stamp it three times because the ink is so light.</div>

This first one was embossed with white powder. I mounted my diecut heart onto Hawaiian Shores cardstock and backed it with craft foam so that it wouldn't be lost in the background.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
On the second card, I used WOW! Silver Pearl powder, which looks amazing in person. The background colors show through it slightly, but it also has a pretty, pearlescent shine. </div>

I didn't want to hide too much of the background with solid cardstock, so I mounted my diecut onto vellum. I also added a small diecut heart that I sparkled up with Wink of Stella and glossy accents.</div>

I'm playing along today with <a href="https://blog.papertreyink.com/lauries-fabulous-favorites-challenge-week-of-february-20-27/" target="_blank">Laurie's Fabulous Favorites challenge</a> for <a href="https://www.papertreyink.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a>. The challenge this time is to use your favorite stand-alone die to create a card. It just so happened that I made my hubby a Valentine this month that fits the bill perfectly!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG1yKUBAX2922T_qX860iN9ZcOVxjxOwP_HRaoN5h_oFZZDIJu39ow06XQKMg51ph2Ng_MAMEADPYm9l3xDphN8Dd9Is8_FOPtOgJ86RYPXSjCZ3wOeyebjx8Noc_j0GBh51RZgbSedBM/s1600/DSC_0327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG1yKUBAX2922T_qX860iN9ZcOVxjxOwP_HRaoN5h_oFZZDIJu39ow06XQKMg51ph2Ng_MAMEADPYm9l3xDphN8Dd9Is8_FOPtOgJ86RYPXSjCZ3wOeyebjx8Noc_j0GBh51RZgbSedBM/s640/DSC_0327.JPG" width="420" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I absolutely love the versatility of the clock face from the Hands of Time set of dies. It's one of the very first die sets that I ever purchased, and I have used it on lots of cards over the years. In this instance, I cut the clock face in half rather than use the entire piece.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghS1z82fb0_4SdGsj0kCJ0ek-mOufU0nqCUt1KIcUam0fnK6o-yN5fu_XncWvBLbZkyB4jM5xdNdanCSCVs_UkbENs7AP2rxT5KazaqDphXmN5lRm6VNEJ89or3otJrJl-Kb3e6GCj7pk/s1600/DSC_0329.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghS1z82fb0_4SdGsj0kCJ0ek-mOufU0nqCUt1KIcUam0fnK6o-yN5fu_XncWvBLbZkyB4jM5xdNdanCSCVs_UkbENs7AP2rxT5KazaqDphXmN5lRm6VNEJ89or3otJrJl-Kb3e6GCj7pk/s640/DSC_0329.JPG" width="422" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Since I wanted some extra texture on this particular card, I chose to diecut my clock face and the clock hands from textured card stocks in gunmetal gray and gold. I also diecut the numbers using Number Time Trio dies from the same gold cardstock. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Since the background is rather busy, I decided to glue my diecuts onto a piece of vellum and then trim off the excess around the clock face. The vellum softens the background that shows through, so that the clock doesn't get "lost" in the background.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYnMoGnuTEuMIzTsm653VilnLkMZR02NxpA-gDn1GGQrch1Hevlsxys3iLni6iFD7S9aqcMzsr27VmCFo0OfzMEfvrIRPxkBjl1E9NIRxVrlfI8nczV_CTGOgS_8yqG21gKwDY7SMvAag/s1600/DSC_0333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYnMoGnuTEuMIzTsm653VilnLkMZR02NxpA-gDn1GGQrch1Hevlsxys3iLni6iFD7S9aqcMzsr27VmCFo0OfzMEfvrIRPxkBjl1E9NIRxVrlfI8nczV_CTGOgS_8yqG21gKwDY7SMvAag/s640/DSC_0333.JPG" width="422" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The background panel is a piece of the Dearest Jane patterned paper which I stamped with keys from the Lock & Key stamp set. I also used a sponge dauber to distress the edges of the panel. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I added a little bit of bakers twine and a cute metal key embellishment for the finishing touches.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Most of the products on this card are from Papertrey Ink. The exceptions are the patterned paper, bakers twine, and the key embellishment. The dies used to cut the sentiment piece are from <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/" target="_blank">My Favorite Things</a>.</div>

Well, I found a little time after my sedatives wore off to create another card before the deadline. I decided on a card that could meet the requirements of both challenges, 2 & 4, of the <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/2018/02/mft-2018-creative-olympics-event-4.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MftCardChallenges+%28MFT+Card+Challenges%29" target="_blank">MFT Creative Olympics</a>. Hopefully there isn't a penalty for combining tricks. The themes of each challenge are as follows:</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The time limit for the speed challenge was 20 minutes from start to finish, and the only stipulation on the freestyle challenge was it had to have a winter theme. I set the timer on my phone and got to work. Since winter is flu season <i>{and it is definitely flu season around here!} </i>I chose to make a get well card with a snowy winter scene.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As soon as I put on the last dot of "snow" to my card I stopped the timer and took a photo (with my hubby's phone) as proof. As you can see, it was a pretty close call!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5UUQNM61XwECcIVgyE1lydmZTDvZ_8FL43KIAATHwto3EP9Ped-r_IBCu3L07hwiosOLYaHBbZn-QbBKMugui3-E_pKvirWiOoER_UccjmJreI573iXPXtYDwjB0pM1f_q0M0zcH3IeE/s1600/20180219_204223.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5UUQNM61XwECcIVgyE1lydmZTDvZ_8FL43KIAATHwto3EP9Ped-r_IBCu3L07hwiosOLYaHBbZn-QbBKMugui3-E_pKvirWiOoER_UccjmJreI573iXPXtYDwjB0pM1f_q0M0zcH3IeE/s400/20180219_204223.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My card started with a white panel that I stamped the dragon image onto and put a die cut mask over him. I used inking tools to quickly sponge two shades of blue onto the sky before removing the mask. I colored him with Copic markers, but didn't bother doing any blending because there wasn't enough time for that.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg98pplRBz4e99uI4_xclEDZHGbi7cewJmSFPMbOsrLNjMM5y-X0AI88qnKIleeBwZ0lYYg8aV1rcyZjysqNV9lS57m3QFfH9iIf6JEC6smC6NGZOxRFYPzgxQevfUIAz6Seb9YrU8OvM/s1600/20180219_204055.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg98pplRBz4e99uI4_xclEDZHGbi7cewJmSFPMbOsrLNjMM5y-X0AI88qnKIleeBwZ0lYYg8aV1rcyZjysqNV9lS57m3QFfH9iIf6JEC6smC6NGZOxRFYPzgxQevfUIAz6Seb9YrU8OvM/s640/20180219_204055.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I ran another piece of white cardstock through my die-cutter with a couple of edger dies to create the snowy ground the dragon is sitting on. After gluing those layers in place and trimming away the excess, I stamped the two sentiments on the panel before gluing the whole thing onto a turquoise colored card base. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDtL3j1aImso1ZagPIwPy20dHw6W7WCv4v4Bgjq5sOK4sQCkpz7YCjzIu4zgaQ7829qDShoLCODR66bjwyhgrk78X5D8aW4YhnFFoAn5VAGAoPbKh7c4p0JsJASSwN2_vaASZKD0z9_Yw/s1600/20180219_204015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDtL3j1aImso1ZagPIwPy20dHw6W7WCv4v4Bgjq5sOK4sQCkpz7YCjzIu4zgaQ7829qDShoLCODR66bjwyhgrk78X5D8aW4YhnFFoAn5VAGAoPbKh7c4p0JsJASSwN2_vaASZKD0z9_Yw/s640/20180219_204015.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the finishing touch, I added some falling snow with Stickles. I sincerely hope that the 20 minute time limit didn't include drying time, or my card will be disqualified. The Stickles were certainly not dry when I took the first photo. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well, that's it for me and the Creative Olympics! Now I'll cross my fingers until they announce who made it to the podium. And in the meantime, I think I'll go back to watching the figure skating on TV until it's time for bed. Go Team USA!!</div>

Well, I didn't have enough time to make a card for the 2nd challenge in the MFT Creative Olympics (Freestyle Challenge); so I'm jumping straight to <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/olympics-2018-3/" target="_blank">challenge 3</a>: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/MFT_CreativeOlympics_CraftBiathlon-500x125.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="125" data-original-width="500" height="80" src="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/MFT_CreativeOlympics_CraftBiathlon-500x125.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screen-Shot-2018-02-13-at-12.10.27-PM-500x196.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="196" data-original-width="500" height="156" src="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screen-Shot-2018-02-13-at-12.10.27-PM-500x196.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The challenge is to choose one technique and one card type to combine on a card. I went with Emboss Resist and Shaker for my entry.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqkKiVMsxrKJJtvYrgG6ZG7dMFrZt3nfFYHgyuP0Wk05XKIA0qIG5Q42Piyiuu4Nrkbb2LmUc_WvGkchKtal_3sJoFLkpgZaXzO8c5k9x7nQJHn48pgepYWxCvo_YM79kNRdEiLWp4IWw/s1600/20180218_231243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqkKiVMsxrKJJtvYrgG6ZG7dMFrZt3nfFYHgyuP0Wk05XKIA0qIG5Q42Piyiuu4Nrkbb2LmUc_WvGkchKtal_3sJoFLkpgZaXzO8c5k9x7nQJHn48pgepYWxCvo_YM79kNRdEiLWp4IWw/s640/20180218_231243.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I stamped a bunch of the images from the Lucky Dog and You Make My Tail Wag stamp sets on a white card base with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I inked up my panel with Distress Inks before die cutting it with the Birthday Centerpieces die.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkJmBDLfebZW03byub4o1PxR0NsYo9-JAIDZjrChk-MXc8MOSg_ubULvysW-DnpI5al6CE6gjZFaNWMuCuyCK-5yjfFBeJvYSRT9fdq2DvmYPTZsey8B-Q9r-4enzHFIUjD2MQIwegwMg/s1600/20180218_231431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkJmBDLfebZW03byub4o1PxR0NsYo9-JAIDZjrChk-MXc8MOSg_ubULvysW-DnpI5al6CE6gjZFaNWMuCuyCK-5yjfFBeJvYSRT9fdq2DvmYPTZsey8B-Q9r-4enzHFIUjD2MQIwegwMg/s640/20180218_231431.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used my inked panel for the front of my shaker and filled it with confetti and sequins in coordinating colors to match my inks. I used a white panel behind the colored panel to help the white embossed images pop a bit more.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcZTfZTOq4JBlCB63X10X5uHmQOvTGZ970qmchnU980_IBUB-zEdTUF7Ckx5r3A_Mu6dKxCPlO-4Myzh5uG7BukQpHq6_og2NGqCTIedbyHkdNVmkgZiZIfMLgsBHEqP-hOFfxamxuD9w/s1600/20180218_231511.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcZTfZTOq4JBlCB63X10X5uHmQOvTGZ970qmchnU980_IBUB-zEdTUF7Ckx5r3A_Mu6dKxCPlO-4Myzh5uG7BukQpHq6_og2NGqCTIedbyHkdNVmkgZiZIfMLgsBHEqP-hOFfxamxuD9w/s640/20180218_231511.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I adhered the shaker panel onto a card base made from Lush Lagoon cardstock and stamped the inside with a sentiment and image from the Lucky Dog set.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivBFAQ5ptdkFSwgg4lqNM-doOUhNNqjOX8SHwrCQyWANujXqtEEp6_w7oTmFkPHU2gO0kzhQcQdYO-zw6_vI-ifQfpXIy4AdtiSRcx62cKJJT_-4TOvuKjzuZ_rmWBo0pPSHbuzEae8wQ/s1600/20180218_231554.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivBFAQ5ptdkFSwgg4lqNM-doOUhNNqjOX8SHwrCQyWANujXqtEEp6_w7oTmFkPHU2gO0kzhQcQdYO-zw6_vI-ifQfpXIy4AdtiSRcx62cKJJT_-4TOvuKjzuZ_rmWBo0pPSHbuzEae8wQ/s640/20180218_231554.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it for my Crafty Biathlon! If I have time tomorrow, I'll backtrack to the Freestyle Challenge. {Unfortunately, I'm having dental work done and have to be sedated so I don't freak out. So crafting might be out of the question tomorrow afternoon. Or maybe I'll come up with a really entertaining card entry while under the influence of sedatives! LOL}</div>

I'm back today with another <a href="https://blog.papertreyink.com/2018/02/11th-anniversary-day-10-february-release-day-5-stripes-challenge/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink challenge</a> for their 11th anniversary celebration. The theme of this challenge is stripes.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I pulled out a pack of Twig Wreath patterned paper and chose one of the diagonal striped patterns for my background layer. I mounted this on a card base made of Classic Kraft cardstock.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNeHDMkg4RBOVCxnncdODnWdotdwxE3Zl4PyGJy0fV7iRg-THahBEORpsXVrvAmSbom03p127BW7rQi6MbEjvo89Yzd7kGGL_Q7p-y7wdu9vOmuij5HSRpbvaSYAmwuMoZoOv-KQmRs9k/s1600/20180218_012348.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1199" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNeHDMkg4RBOVCxnncdODnWdotdwxE3Zl4PyGJy0fV7iRg-THahBEORpsXVrvAmSbom03p127BW7rQi6MbEjvo89Yzd7kGGL_Q7p-y7wdu9vOmuij5HSRpbvaSYAmwuMoZoOv-KQmRs9k/s640/20180218_012348.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves and adhered them using glue runner and foam tape. I added a bow of bakers twine for an extra bit of character.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDu91KE4YtVbXlUw3XdRPgsjhgSm-7zlfq2dTbhlT7X9wzNDhpDGWxqk79r42tGbkF8E2T2__N2f0SDeZlGrNl6DStUYEfQbOfrLS5XfUor6RUUUs6iXQTtwPEBYPHLfFyzytlimqfFuo/s1600/20180218_012408.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDu91KE4YtVbXlUw3XdRPgsjhgSm-7zlfq2dTbhlT7X9wzNDhpDGWxqk79r42tGbkF8E2T2__N2f0SDeZlGrNl6DStUYEfQbOfrLS5XfUor6RUUUs6iXQTtwPEBYPHLfFyzytlimqfFuo/s640/20180218_012408.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder for some texture and shine. In retrospect, I wish I had used a darker embossing powder as this color simply doesn't stand out that well on the darker paper. However, this color does coordinate well with the other colors on my card.</div>

My next card is for the Papertrey Ink <a href="https://blog.papertreyink.com/2018/02/11th-anniversary-day-7-february-release-day-2-use-only-dies-no-stamps-challenge/" target="_blank">day 7 challenge</a> in their 11th anniversary celebration, and the challenge is to make a card using NO stamps. That's definitely not my usual style, but it's good to step outside of one's comfort zone on occasion.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsgoa5o5AxpD3lY8Pc9z71XXrpWOSmhRko24uye8LqTS7SVJBlckJGNLKz7bC30zklkPyreRlef8pRqlVhctCYN8LewkViPy3hkU-x1AKv0FlSz3oRycf9i4QFVw8qP0gEGckrPEriZxc/s1600/20180211_160339.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsgoa5o5AxpD3lY8Pc9z71XXrpWOSmhRko24uye8LqTS7SVJBlckJGNLKz7bC30zklkPyreRlef8pRqlVhctCYN8LewkViPy3hkU-x1AKv0FlSz3oRycf9i4QFVw8qP0gEGckrPEriZxc/s640/20180211_160339.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For this card, I reached into my stash of background panels that I've created and have not yet used. I made this panel some time ago using Distress Crayons. At the time, I wasn't happy with how it turned out because I wasn't able to master blending the colors. However, I saved it because I figured I would find a use for it one day and today is that day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

The butterfly panel is diecut from white cardstock using the PTI Butterfly cover plate. The sentiment is Winnie & Walter's In a Word - Hugs. I diecut it once from teal glitter cardstock (from Walmart) and three more times from white cardstock so that I could stack the layers for dimension.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I threw in some Moonshine sequins from Simon Says Stamp and.....Done!!</div>

I'm playing along today with the My Favorite Things Creative Olympics in honor of the 2018 Winter Olympics. I've been watching the figure skating events, and I'm absolutely in awe of the agility and grace those athletes have while competing. They absolutely amaze me!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway, back to the MFT challenge.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am entering this card into two separate challenges; </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1) <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/olympics-2018-1/" target="_blank">Creative Olympics Event 1: Stamping Slalom</a> and</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2) <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/2018/02/mft-color-challenge-87.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MftCardChallenges+%28MFT+Card+Challenges%29" target="_blank">MFT Color Challenge 87</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSOjOANQK3I7GAN7Bq4PMqpm3KpD40zDIykkk_XcGbJ6I3tEEAcO5Aa5XpPzfLaOXT0-pDw4e6dbP5nQkwqNDeGATu3zjJPShobXRjohPlFeC4SINVy_7_lVjRfzoIW8PgGOZv2ndfF0rc/s640/MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_87.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="133" data-original-width="640" height="65" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSOjOANQK3I7GAN7Bq4PMqpm3KpD40zDIykkk_XcGbJ6I3tEEAcO5Aa5XpPzfLaOXT0-pDw4e6dbP5nQkwqNDeGATu3zjJPShobXRjohPlFeC4SINVy_7_lVjRfzoIW8PgGOZv2ndfF0rc/s320/MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_87.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The requirements for the Stamping Slalom are to use at least three separate MFT stamp sets on one card. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvUDJMcr9IGR0WsTw5Y8fLX2Y_G2ebIrCdk-I3wTuBohydM2ziRhl_1RZBhI0qH-Djq7rzJDbSdD0ZrO17aLwmgPwurGqt-dLBIQ7DlzaaErbbYVirqvM_S-KmW_N0aP3lgJfnUa8TXHw/s1600/20180211_134622.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvUDJMcr9IGR0WsTw5Y8fLX2Y_G2ebIrCdk-I3wTuBohydM2ziRhl_1RZBhI0qH-Djq7rzJDbSdD0ZrO17aLwmgPwurGqt-dLBIQ7DlzaaErbbYVirqvM_S-KmW_N0aP3lgJfnUa8TXHw/s640/20180211_134622.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started by stamping a white card panel with my images and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Next I inked up the panel with Distress Inks that coordinate with the color challenge; Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry & Weathered Wood. The clear embossed images stay white after the ink is applied. Then I diecut some masking paper to cover each of the images I stamped before splatter the panel with Black Soot Distress Ink.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqCeZEtB1jMRSeNRabJXmglJ2M2aHJjDsjuaM9wHMuWZf4dRJd5Hq6LESqEllOA-EylNRqdDuWWIHk8iNRM8uN2eQwumHflwOoYdZU1KXNCXqu93oEvnesRrQZn06A4kHy189JiLEG-WI/s1600/20180211_134717.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqCeZEtB1jMRSeNRabJXmglJ2M2aHJjDsjuaM9wHMuWZf4dRJd5Hq6LESqEllOA-EylNRqdDuWWIHk8iNRM8uN2eQwumHflwOoYdZU1KXNCXqu93oEvnesRrQZn06A4kHy189JiLEG-WI/s640/20180211_134717.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I mounted my stamped and inked panel on a piece of white cardstock and then a black card base. I love how well the colors POP with the white and black frames around the colored panel!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
[To be totally honest, I messed up my first inked panel and had to start over again. On my first panel, I didn't mask off the images before splattering with ink and the images seemed to get totally lost in the black splatters. Lesson learned!]</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2RFVGGxHoQbcphDY5BXzZkGMpz6ZBCkr2DOD83nGQ4Zg61tahN3eWLghi9lFhyphenhyphenDg6B1t7eUhfKthyphenhyphenL5bQCHNLY6j5mPrejy2b3qu02dN7O_RgcxWCNqLA0hgfwWfdkBO7dN-dKj22EDg/s1600/20180211_134752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1199" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2RFVGGxHoQbcphDY5BXzZkGMpz6ZBCkr2DOD83nGQ4Zg61tahN3eWLghi9lFhyphenhyphenDg6B1t7eUhfKthyphenhyphenL5bQCHNLY6j5mPrejy2b3qu02dN7O_RgcxWCNqLA0hgfwWfdkBO7dN-dKj22EDg/s640/20180211_134752.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I stamped another white panel for the inside of the card using more inks to coordinate with the color challenge; PTI Picked Raspberry & Lovely Lady and Jenni Bowlin Weather Vane.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
MFT STAMP SETS USED ON THIS CARD:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lucky Dog</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tiki Party</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Penguins in Paradise</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You Make My Tail Wag</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You Gnome Me</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lovey Dovey Sentiments</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
{The coordinating dies were used to cut the masks for the front of the card.}</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's six different stamp sets used on one card. Challenge met!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm looking forward to seeing what the next Creative Olympics challenge will be!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Go, Olympic Team USA!!</div>

The latest Papertrey Ink challenge is to create a project using one of the stamp sets on their latest list of retiring stamp sets. [sniffle, sniffle....I hate seeing their awesome stamps retire forever!]</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I own several of the stamp sets on the list, but the one I chose to create with today is the Retro Style: Birthday stamp set and dies. I copied the layout from one of Betsy Veldman's cards that she made with this same set ages ago. I'll link to her photo at the end of this post.</div>

I'm participating today in the Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday Challenge.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a card I created way back in 2014. I love this card! But I also knew I could take the same basic layout and transform it into another amazing card as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNLxF3ysv5qUkaAEC3BnGqKHcbfkCsIhLrWueb24iLyfKg6eHXL5Te5CSLLhDYXZBRxi2GrQvbCmB3nyV6sD14boiCqOLex27t3qA95IsUmwoN738lJBq1jbttNRTfiqv9N3b_-aCfiAw/s1600/YoureAPeach1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="792" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNLxF3ysv5qUkaAEC3BnGqKHcbfkCsIhLrWueb24iLyfKg6eHXL5Te5CSLLhDYXZBRxi2GrQvbCmB3nyV6sD14boiCqOLex27t3qA95IsUmwoN738lJBq1jbttNRTfiqv9N3b_-aCfiAw/s320/YoureAPeach1.jpg" width="253" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I waived my magic wand and......</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ta Da!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used PTI patterned paper from the Enchanted Evening pattern pack for the background. The flowers and leaves were from my stash of stamped and diecut pieces that were leftover from older projects. The flowers are stamped with PTI Lavender Moon and Autumn Rose inks. I don't remember what colors were used on the leaves.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The scroll stamp is from PTI Boutique Borders: Thanks, and I decided to cut it into two pieces so that I could stamp one at the top and one at the bottom using VersaMagic Aegean Blue ink. I also embossed it with clear embossing powder from PTI. The sentiment is from the PTI Words of Comfort set and is stamped in Altenew Desert Night ink and clear embossed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Transformation complete!! :)</div>

One of my favorite stamp companies, Papertrey Ink, is celebrating their 11th anniversary this month. I'm entering this card in their anniversary sketch challenge.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the inspiration sketch recipe that inspired my card:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blog.papertreyink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/11th-Anniversary-Sketch-Melissa-P-768x361.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="361" data-original-width="768" height="187" src="https://blog.papertreyink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/11th-Anniversary-Sketch-Melissa-P-768x361.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKeZHwc4hGqR_5UN-bsGfKVNCr0gICMV2005dIhE2G_22Bmzt7Jx4_11MX4PNGlpzEA-aRWbogZ7OXsZrjEgzooYXCEoBqmGSzIbIPlwJ6bwqjaaU7j8c0GCX1zam2JajSybCON0Mvxmk/s1600/20180210_021813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKeZHwc4hGqR_5UN-bsGfKVNCr0gICMV2005dIhE2G_22Bmzt7Jx4_11MX4PNGlpzEA-aRWbogZ7OXsZrjEgzooYXCEoBqmGSzIbIPlwJ6bwqjaaU7j8c0GCX1zam2JajSybCON0Mvxmk/s640/20180210_021813.jpg" width="476" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I believe this is the first time I've ever used acetate as my card base. The sketch recipe says to make the card base narrower than A2 size, which I did with the purple layer; but I chose to use PTI clear cardstock for my actual card base. It gives the appearance of being narrower than A2, but it actually is not. I really love the effect it gives to the card! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr0LycmPjlxGLAvWatKd852DbF9IhYN-suVmRQvMEeI3yMN7J8wg1kpcc9jqAez5k56jwdhhKbrMuJeo5e6B0fZlKJbXxiuVJucqr5jnkCONFdzbbC4CBbAzS_EHEMeBMq2kg2Vgqrep4/s1600/20180210_021709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr0LycmPjlxGLAvWatKd852DbF9IhYN-suVmRQvMEeI3yMN7J8wg1kpcc9jqAez5k56jwdhhKbrMuJeo5e6B0fZlKJbXxiuVJucqr5jnkCONFdzbbC4CBbAzS_EHEMeBMq2kg2Vgqrep4/s640/20180210_021709.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used foam adhesive to pop up my flowers for extra dimension, and adhered some of the leaves directly to the white frame panel to create more depth.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I didn't want the sentiment to be "lost" amid the flowers, so I heat embossed it with a purple metallic embossing powder. The raised embossing adds a little extra texture.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For a finishing touch, I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen just to the darker areas of the flowers. It did end up causing the ink to lighten a bit since it isn't a waterproof ink, but I love the shimmer and shine it adds to the card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjpDiuXZPhVvQSNh5IItpJ9WiwU6P4_PzfoE6zJ-T8qz7K17fF21krnaR53vz61aXkQpypSWNXlMXDhE4LPSIQlUZu8d3X0IC2FxVk5iiEorv3ZvG012fhHKFosvST7LYk4xTX218D_Xc/s1600/20180210_021618.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjpDiuXZPhVvQSNh5IItpJ9WiwU6P4_PzfoE6zJ-T8qz7K17fF21krnaR53vz61aXkQpypSWNXlMXDhE4LPSIQlUZu8d3X0IC2FxVk5iiEorv3ZvG012fhHKFosvST7LYk4xTX218D_Xc/s640/20180210_021618.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the inside of my card I cut another white frame panel to match the front, but did not cut the diagonal stripes from the center. This gave me the perfect place to stamp the sentiment on the inside.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it for today! Now it's off to bed for me.<br />

Wow! I can't believe it's been nearly a year since I posted anything here! All I can say is my life is crazy and time really flies! I barely find time to craft, let alone type up blog posts and edit photos. However, I do love sharing the things that I make and if there is a chance to win a prize along the way...well, why not? Just gotta make the time to do it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, My Favorite Things is giving away a $50 gift voucher for their latest challenge called The Birthday Project: Celebrate Good Times.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, when I was creating this birthday card, I had totally forgotten the name of the challenge post....I only remembered that we're supposed to use the word Celebrate in our project. It just so happened that I picked a sentiment that actually says "Celebrate good times". It wasn't my intention to duplicate the name of the challenge.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The stamps are all from Altenew except for the sentiment which is from My Creative Time.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My flowers were stamped with the following colors from lightest to darkest:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Papertrey Ink - Sweet Blush (stamped 3 times)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Altenew - Sunkissed (stamped twice)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hero Arts Shadow - Soft Cantaloupe (stamped twice)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Memento - Morocco (stamped twice)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used my MISTI tool to stamp in the same place each time. I also noticed that if I stamp all the color layers immediately after one another, the inks seem to fade into each other a bit when they dry which gives the colors a much softer feel. I wanted a bolder look, so I let each new color dry a while before stamping the next color on top. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I always start with my darkest color (the outline) first. It also seemed to soften after stamping the other colors on top of it, so I stamped it again at the very last step to make it nice and bold.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All of the other ink colors used are shades of green from Altenew and that touch of blue is Altenew Sea Glass stamped 3 times.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Fishtail Frames dies to diecut the frame around my sentiment from their Copper Shine cardstock. I photographed it from several angles because it's so shiny that it's difficult to photograph well with nothing but a desk lamp lighting my project. (We have a photography light booth in the basement, but I didn't feel like going downstairs to take me pictures.)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sequins came from 28 Lilac Lane's Spring Butterflies sequin mix. The mix also has hearts and butterflies in it, but I just pulled out some round sequins for this. The colors were an excellent compliment to my ink choices for this project.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a backlog of photos that I have taken over the past year, and I hope to find the time to post some more of those projects in the near future.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy 2018 to anyone reading this! :)</div>

The challenge for day 5 is to take a card that I wasn't very happy with and recreate it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is my original card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAhFGZv22A2-1qqW04CMsaJe55T1gz_WEsgF53DJShKLwhUrsd3rcOm9TtJcdP-IKetIHZbVlcuyhFxBWatzqzdxJguqUzQfatAixD4XXwT_-WyhzUqp_Vz5tFMUqf-soedJeCutIjNQ/s1600/R1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAhFGZv22A2-1qqW04CMsaJe55T1gz_WEsgF53DJShKLwhUrsd3rcOm9TtJcdP-IKetIHZbVlcuyhFxBWatzqzdxJguqUzQfatAixD4XXwT_-WyhzUqp_Vz5tFMUqf-soedJeCutIjNQ/s320/R1.jpg" width="241" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, I'm just not that thrilled with this card. The background seems too plain and the flowers are too monotone.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is my recreation.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLfBdg6cGfsfdaFY_TK0Qwej9ZZLDq1yq9uJI0st_VOE1Hecv5AY9rNavPODc1LbJ_wxFCVYtHGbQggCIeVjuE8-HgcUJVin-x5mGDr4fjEGHLe6tCTLlmYXZ70J39x7cYkLrDqrlKqPs/s1600/R2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLfBdg6cGfsfdaFY_TK0Qwej9ZZLDq1yq9uJI0st_VOE1Hecv5AY9rNavPODc1LbJ_wxFCVYtHGbQggCIeVjuE8-HgcUJVin-x5mGDr4fjEGHLe6tCTLlmYXZ70J39x7cYkLrDqrlKqPs/s640/R2.jpg" width="489" /></a></div>
<br />
I think this card turned out so much better! It has lots of texture, color and dimension. Much more interesting to look at than the original.<br />
<br />
Both cards feature the Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2 stamp sets. <br />
<br />

The challenge for day 4 is to download a free bird house template and decorate it. Such a cute idea!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Here is the birdhouse I created. I kept it pretty simple because I'm not feeling the best and didn't have the energy to get super fancy.</div>

The challenge for release day 3 is to use your favorite PTI floral stamp set. I think the one I have used the most over the years is Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie step 2.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a card that uses them both.</div>

I've been on a long hiatus thanks to the complications of life, but I've been sitting at home the past 3 days fighting a cold and thought I'd sit down to blog a few cards. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a> is celebrating their 10 year anniversary with contests and prizes, so I'm here today to get in on the fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My card uses the Papertrey Ink Bitty Butterflies stamp set and cover plate die. I also used ink and paper from PTI and the sentiment comes from another PTI stamp set called Quilled Elegance.</div>

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 9th birthday! And I'm playing along today with all the great challenges they are running during the celebration.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01bb08b657c1970d-450wi" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01bb08b657c1970d-450wi" height="320" width="205" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<h4>
<b>I combined challenges 1 & 2:</b></h4>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first challenge is to create a card that's inspired by an outfit in your closet. The second challenge is to create a card using only the products you can grab in 5 minutes. [I keep my craft supplies super organized, so it's easy to find exactly what I want whenever I need it.] I chose a super cute maxi dress as my inspiration piece and created a panel the size of an A2 card front using the Mehndi Medallion and Mega Mehndi Medallion stamp sets. Since I only wanted to use part of the panel for the card I had in mind, I ended up using the rest of the panel on a second card. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<h4>
I also combined challenges 3, 5 & 6:</h4>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01b8d137d284970c-450wi" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01b8d137d284970c-450wi" height="115" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Challenge 3 is to create a card that's inspired by one of the inspiration posts that is shared during the release blog hop. Challenge 5 is a super cute and fun one! The PTI design team created a Color Pop Fortune Teller to help you randomly choose a color combination to use as a color recipe for a project. Challenge 6 is to create a thank you card to send to the PTI warehouse staff for all the hard work they do to get our orders shipped out to us. [Nice idea, don't you think?]</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01b8d19e8d9b970c-450wi" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01b8d19e8d9b970c-450wi" height="267" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started my "fortune" with the number 3 and then repeated 3 again because it's my birthday month (March). The colors I ended up with were Winter Wisteria (my favorite!), Hibiscus Burst and Ripe Avocado. A perfect combination for flowers! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the card I chose as inspiration from the blog hop [created by <a href="http://myjoyfulmoments-kaym.blogspot.com/2016/02/make-it-market-mini-kit-color-pop.html" target="_blank">Kay Miller</a>]:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcnBzoRPD1lMrY8T-046i2O7JveQZFa2KrK1H3XrqXmTtO8OBPuYfpNZtlhZCF7k5T7JqG1_ujkBkjk6bwNVbaUBs_TmMguiEq4N8t6l8nI683DaNy6cHluTwNa-CtqlVgWuCFli2CxYM/s1600/KayM-Colorpopflorals4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcnBzoRPD1lMrY8T-046i2O7JveQZFa2KrK1H3XrqXmTtO8OBPuYfpNZtlhZCF7k5T7JqG1_ujkBkjk6bwNVbaUBs_TmMguiEq4N8t6l8nI683DaNy6cHluTwNa-CtqlVgWuCFli2CxYM/s320/KayM-Colorpopflorals4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card is incredibly awesome because of the amazing new products used to create it; the Color Pop Floral stencils from the new Color Pop; Make-it Market Mini Kit! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
These are so super cool! They are designed to layer perfectly over the top of one another to create an awesome background! I LOVE this concept and I hope they continue to release similar stencil sets. Since I don't have anything like this in my stash, I created my own stencil by die-cutting some images from vellum. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used my DIY-stencil to create a background on a card panel and then used the coordinating stamp set to add the layers on each flower and leaf.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Challenge 4 is to create a 5.5 x 5.5 square card using 9 white 1.5 inch squares. Each square has to be altered using a different technique. I looked back at the Make It Monday challenges to find inspiration for each technique. I've listed the techniques used on the close-up images.</div>

Challenge 7:</h4>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Challenge 7 is another really fun one. They created a paper crafting alphabet to use as a card making recipe! The idea is to write your name in a vertical column and then fill in the required techniques and/or products that you will need to use for your creation.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I used my last name; Powers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
P- use pink somewhere on your project</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
O- incorporate an ombre effect</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
W- add watercoloring</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
E- incorporate emboss resist technique</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
R- round some corners</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
S- incorporate real or faux stitching</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started off by stamping a piece of watercolor card stock with a background stamp and VersaMark ink. Then I added some clear embossing powder and heat set it. The background stamp I used has oodles of swirly flourishes in a stitched line pattern. Then I sponged on some Distress Inks in an ombre pattern, so that I could have a nice solid base color. Then I used those same inks and smooshed them onto my craft mat. I sprayed the ink with a little water and dipped my card panel into the ink. This created that lovely watercolored splotchyness. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ4vJx4a9HMM9W7Z6jJkmKshokJ5Ka-WKQqtvo0PfVssvBuLQrF2BLUiMB4mPkP0GXeY57jWD0YuBIlFWzEEQVfeIfqh3yX9DK1utCkgqtgHS4qolHAWX1nYFyknwI3IIgXTI1xMF9xmI/s1600/pti9butterflies1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ4vJx4a9HMM9W7Z6jJkmKshokJ5Ka-WKQqtvo0PfVssvBuLQrF2BLUiMB4mPkP0GXeY57jWD0YuBIlFWzEEQVfeIfqh3yX9DK1utCkgqtgHS4qolHAWX1nYFyknwI3IIgXTI1xMF9xmI/s640/pti9butterflies1.jpg" width="474" /></a></div>
<br />
After heat setting my ink, I used a dry paper towel to buff any excess ink off of the embossed background pattern. Isn't that an awesome background! It's pink, ombre, watercolored with emboss resist and faux stitching! Then I used my corner chomper to round the bottom two corners of the panel. For decoration, I added some vellum butterflies so that the background panel wouldn't get covered up too much. The butterflies are embossed with white embossing powder and a gorgeous, Silver Pearl embossing powder.<br />

WOW! This turned out to be a super long post! But I wanted to include all of my PTI Challenge projects in one post rather than doing a separate post for each card. It seemed appropriate since I combined several of the challenges for some of the cards I made.<br />
<br />
Judging by the blog hop inspiration posts, this looks like it's going to be an incredibly great release month! [Not surprising since this is <a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a> we're talking about! Every release month is awesome! LOL) I'm extremely happy to be celebrating their 9th year in business. They are such an incredible company! Their products are top notch, they have great customer service, their design team is made up of a bunch of absolutely genius card makers, and I could go on and on...I hope they stay in business for many, many years to come! I have been a loyal customer since I first discovered them years ago. [At least 7 years, but I'm not sure exactly when or how I first found out about them. I'm just glad that I did! ;) They have been a huge inspiration to my life as a crafter!] I can't wait for the final reveal post for this month's release products! <br />
<br />
Happy Birthday, Papertrey Ink!<br />
TTFN<br />

The final challenge of the Holiday Style class is to use one stamp or stamp set in 5 different ways. Since I've been either sick or working the past several days, I haven't had time to create 5 cards yet. However, I did manage to get the first one done and I plan to add the rest as soon as I can get them finished.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I'm back for day 7 of the Holiday Style card class from <a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/" target="_blank">Online Card Classes</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" height="140" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Day 7 focuses on Shimmer & Shine, so I pulled out some glitter embossing powder that I've had FOREVER to use on this card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-G_mlzm4vPTVpkmPrJcmb2YA0m3yyfxcsS1yXPsaJc3JfI6U3kcO7oYYnrlteSE3PytSEJFbdavIdl5GT_EuJpaBm77rfEQWAue47Fvri_gbPHStY9natHakbuFmbJ0kiZEyXQH_2OJ0/s1600/Yeti1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-G_mlzm4vPTVpkmPrJcmb2YA0m3yyfxcsS1yXPsaJc3JfI6U3kcO7oYYnrlteSE3PytSEJFbdavIdl5GT_EuJpaBm77rfEQWAue47Fvri_gbPHStY9natHakbuFmbJ0kiZEyXQH_2OJ0/s640/Yeti1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have to tell you, this northern lights technique is a lot harder to accomplish than I thought it would be. I wasn't entirely happy with how mine came out either, but once I added the glitter embossing powder, I liked it a bit better. Mostly, I didn't like how the colored parts look so straight and uniform across the background. Anyway, the sky was done using Distress inks and sponge applicators for the colored portions. Then, I was having trouble adding the black areas of the sky, so I ended up water coloring it using black Distress ink and water with a large paint brush.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyZboCuiwuzOGrIJ8siC_5sgUwhmk1S32WzYuErxqyzCZmrNePZV9iSvuKbonvjXHN0WoYMtKdCocD5XCghqsph3S4yGsNJiyBE6EGXIk3NZAgSoxDJ-u7V0HtOE6CSBsOc3f4jctabcM/s1600/Yeti2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyZboCuiwuzOGrIJ8siC_5sgUwhmk1S32WzYuErxqyzCZmrNePZV9iSvuKbonvjXHN0WoYMtKdCocD5XCghqsph3S4yGsNJiyBE6EGXIk3NZAgSoxDJ-u7V0HtOE6CSBsOc3f4jctabcM/s640/Yeti2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once I gave up on perfection, I set the panel aside to dry and worked on die cutting and coloring the other elements of my card. The yeti and trees are from <a href="http://www.lawnfawn.com/" target="_blank">Lawn Fawn</a>. The camp fire is from <a href="http://stores.purpleoniondesigns.com/" target="_blank">Purple Onion Designs.</a> And I used an <a href="http://www.averyelle.com/" target="_blank">Avery Elle</a> die to cut the snowy hills. Everything was colored with Copic Markers, and some elements were popped up with foam tape.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxb8cXAyLhkEYaN8NShFWF0uJxE-K_1CVhOlFpWWKmQIu84QIneeT50zsPgweII69UALt2eamGix4miyuSZucudn9FYcAqtAXS9j_Mzaq-gM_WAKb5btcGT8XNmLqsKtITNVRvml3vFak/s1600/Yeti3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="548" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxb8cXAyLhkEYaN8NShFWF0uJxE-K_1CVhOlFpWWKmQIu84QIneeT50zsPgweII69UALt2eamGix4miyuSZucudn9FYcAqtAXS9j_Mzaq-gM_WAKb5btcGT8XNmLqsKtITNVRvml3vFak/s640/Yeti3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other thing I'm not totally thrilled with is how the glitter in this embossing powder completely hides the colored background if you turn it at an angle. This is a holographic glitter so it appears to change colors as you turn it in the light. So I guess it still has a bit of a northern lights feel about it no matter how you look at it, but I like the direct, head on view the best.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, I still think it's a super adorable card, and it DEFINITELY has shimmer and shine! But I think I'll need to practice my "northern lights" some more before I'll be happy with myself.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
However, it's all about that little Yeti anyway, and he's the cutest little Yeti ever! :) Don't you think?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bye!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

<a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" height="140" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't pull out my <a href="http://www.lawnfawn.com/" target="_blank">Lawn Fawn</a> stamps often enough, and they definitely say "cute" and "whimsical". So I pulled out my Making Frosty Friends stamp set for this card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI6SwU3DU-TAUanLCIiOHLdFu5YAjoU6oqGexjKtgn2M_F2N2NWnq3xPXNFcb_Zh4De_sdJsWYx96I1fCCc0VL50VIzQUHaXWYwdRexuBzrTHa8z17QNM1uQVFAzQTM8Ga0znvtQMB8sw/s1600/WarmWishes1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI6SwU3DU-TAUanLCIiOHLdFu5YAjoU6oqGexjKtgn2M_F2N2NWnq3xPXNFcb_Zh4De_sdJsWYx96I1fCCc0VL50VIzQUHaXWYwdRexuBzrTHa8z17QNM1uQVFAzQTM8Ga0znvtQMB8sw/s640/WarmWishes1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To start with, I stamped out my scene on scratch paper with the images overlapping to get a feel for what order I would need to stamp everything. Then I used my "rough draft" as a guide for lining up my stamps on my <a href="http://www.mysweetpetunia.com/" target="_blank">Misti</a> and stamping them out in order. As I stamped each image, I would cover it with a mask before stamping the overlapping images.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ91YAPHtCEnKwZ3co0YA7eb9hPSgCtl_b-VsrTIGXZAETHpt0A3pb3Cd6PgmePSiP0mluPBQp9Tt1P-G4HiK4EFBdJlqJG-K0CNmt6zj_rJZXZANvz_0haqfZ7HvW8DJDmJwWuGc-6gk/s1600/WarmWishes2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="544" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ91YAPHtCEnKwZ3co0YA7eb9hPSgCtl_b-VsrTIGXZAETHpt0A3pb3Cd6PgmePSiP0mluPBQp9Tt1P-G4HiK4EFBdJlqJG-K0CNmt6zj_rJZXZANvz_0haqfZ7HvW8DJDmJwWuGc-6gk/s640/WarmWishes2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After all the images were stamped out, I used Distress inks and ink blending tools to sponge the blue sky background. Next, I used the Falling Snow stencil from <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/" target="_blank">Simon Says Stamp</a> and Texture Paste to add the snow to the background. Once the "snow" was dry, I peeled off my masks and colored my images with Copic markers. I forgot to use a good blending paper, so I didn't do any blending. I did use the colorless blender to soften the tummies of the birds and add dots to the ear muffs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNQBdWYovjqLNKDh-_M1n8ONnG0XaOMS9fXeAFpDuN5EGB5XtsGVQMfRsxqe_Ln12xwhV3b72t_wYi0Db2nqcWVLdRXg_gHQfDVyqDL23eEiHs5uk01uGbenlNxDEtRyzE52fY4fDNcGc/s1600/WarmWishes3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNQBdWYovjqLNKDh-_M1n8ONnG0XaOMS9fXeAFpDuN5EGB5XtsGVQMfRsxqe_Ln12xwhV3b72t_wYi0Db2nqcWVLdRXg_gHQfDVyqDL23eEiHs5uk01uGbenlNxDEtRyzE52fY4fDNcGc/s640/WarmWishes3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here you can see the snow texture better and some of the coloring detail as well. I gave the top hat a blended look simply by leaving part of it lighter gray and coloring over the rest with a darker gray. It's not actually blended, but gives the impression that it is.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My hubby asked me to make a card for a friend of his who is going through a rough patch right now. It's just a little thinking of you, but I wanted him to know that our FAMILY is thinking of him. So the characters I used are representational of our family. My husband, myself, our son, and our two dogs. Each is colored with the favorite colors of the person, and the scarves on the birds match the collars on our dogs. I don't know whether Ken will pick up on all of that, but it's there nonetheless. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Warm wishes to all of you too! It's certainly been cold here the past few days. Wherever you are, think warm thoughts. :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh! I almost forgot! The sentiment is from the <a href="http://www.heroarts.com/" target="_blank">Hero Arts</a> Holiday Sayings stamp set. Bye!</div>

I'm back with another card inspired by the Holiday Style class from Online Card Classes. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" height="140" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The theme for day 3 is Classic & Elegant. I don't know about elegant, but I think that sleds are definitely classic! Don't you?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVht-m0F1pl7oRD7ywTp7s1MeAm02pCaPmEAZ_cts3IcaKuKec_4n0bNSGgMYrPXNqoFoY6I7hISSBdCVkzpAUNyFRMkP6LgVwyvwmO9TgKcGXJeOTBch8h0_qmXKtGq_2tDJH7dc6uAg/s1600/Sled1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="484" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVht-m0F1pl7oRD7ywTp7s1MeAm02pCaPmEAZ_cts3IcaKuKec_4n0bNSGgMYrPXNqoFoY6I7hISSBdCVkzpAUNyFRMkP6LgVwyvwmO9TgKcGXJeOTBch8h0_qmXKtGq_2tDJH7dc6uAg/s640/Sled1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This first one will be my Daddy-O's birthday card next month. All the products I used are from Papertrey Ink except for the Stickles on the sled.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf3RQ6UXkuypE-3oOiZgjEFI93K7Xfc-FKMj1FtiuMQfl3arg5_zUbxjCM9E_aaYzOlD2dvJqR2f4GEpywUOT7fNzPFp91eeqw4wF9Flz2_T0WCNZ0imi6yBvYs3UsaJNICguj13COZjw/s1600/Sled2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="510" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf3RQ6UXkuypE-3oOiZgjEFI93K7Xfc-FKMj1FtiuMQfl3arg5_zUbxjCM9E_aaYzOlD2dvJqR2f4GEpywUOT7fNzPFp91eeqw4wF9Flz2_T0WCNZ0imi6yBvYs3UsaJNICguj13COZjw/s640/Sled2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I popped up the sled with foam tape for some dimension and the evergreen sprigs were popped up slightly with two layers of glue dots.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj98pO9bDxf7ty4VQp_tnksV0NrFmSgvw1vedr_dd1qarmgvMlaiW51OEk33hnUlnsCFQCjimzCgJz216xOHS9ec0cnqmGNf_fdD1BoY18FhaFk35gMveMQEc2oiLatih3O2r_T2mHvzNQ/s1600/Sled3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj98pO9bDxf7ty4VQp_tnksV0NrFmSgvw1vedr_dd1qarmgvMlaiW51OEk33hnUlnsCFQCjimzCgJz216xOHS9ec0cnqmGNf_fdD1BoY18FhaFk35gMveMQEc2oiLatih3O2r_T2mHvzNQ/s640/Sled3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love the sentiment combo on the inside of the card! :) Happy brrrrrrr-thday! LOL</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijmMygR-ZrRgl_HFT8jQInhvi-cs5YIKL2PnqeBcPN9VVd2KsFyWF86gSjzmEI5L7fTHqhH_TYF4klh5DGxeu2g8wRMcN5Ptg4dj603Pll-P3A_HoQCbKuuPMHE2lX3oPdyrrPhytPX0U/s1600/3sleds2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijmMygR-ZrRgl_HFT8jQInhvi-cs5YIKL2PnqeBcPN9VVd2KsFyWF86gSjzmEI5L7fTHqhH_TYF4klh5DGxeu2g8wRMcN5Ptg4dj603Pll-P3A_HoQCbKuuPMHE2lX3oPdyrrPhytPX0U/s640/3sleds2.jpg" width="472" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This second one will be for my boss's birthday, which is the same week as my Dad's. All products on this card are from Papertrey Ink.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTWMzP0FWBc5zgYmD5i1YJ1srQvQV9S3-KmLSHJqMMo5yH99Ic6_X5c5IF6uUZ6XpjmFMPT6n-5-0am0OH8nAUZqMCk6A89RUWu7PiVUTG6vl4lDfbeoToQeJfgLHdsF7YFIAAEta5bwI/s1600/3sleds1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTWMzP0FWBc5zgYmD5i1YJ1srQvQV9S3-KmLSHJqMMo5yH99Ic6_X5c5IF6uUZ6XpjmFMPT6n-5-0am0OH8nAUZqMCk6A89RUWu7PiVUTG6vl4lDfbeoToQeJfgLHdsF7YFIAAEta5bwI/s640/3sleds1.jpg" width="394" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I popped up all the little pine sprigs with foam dots and adhered the button on with glue dots.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVoA_kE2u9pvBfmyy87_P5I-5UFksnzHhPNEDa8HNMe-rbIDohRO8YUunNe5pMyqQUrgYesYpIAo-3FFxr5VKcpazcgiHNuytEfhbKyxmAUiDfr7DfAdKFAXrJ0DVk09IYqh_PhT6GRRo/s1600/3sleds3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVoA_kE2u9pvBfmyy87_P5I-5UFksnzHhPNEDa8HNMe-rbIDohRO8YUunNe5pMyqQUrgYesYpIAo-3FFxr5VKcpazcgiHNuytEfhbKyxmAUiDfr7DfAdKFAXrJ0DVk09IYqh_PhT6GRRo/s640/3sleds3.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the same sentiments inside as before and added another pine sprig.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think all the green and red add to the "classic" feel of these cards as well. What do you think?</div>

So, I recently won a giveaway on <a href="http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/blog" target="_blank">Jennifer McGuire's blog</a> for a free spot in the Holiday Style class from <a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/" target="_blank">Online Card Classes</a>. Thanks, Jennifer! Thanks, OCC Folks! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/HS.png" height="140" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Day 1 was all about Clean & Simple cards. I really loved one of the inspiration cards and wanted to try creating a similar background. This was the result:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgujZ1fLwNBQhNTOPFdX0TaG0z6_x92skjbVIyvR1-mki6ylKrfwKevi8pAP8HTXl5od5DER9IgeAswCIceyWbpL8jtezcp21qIyzp1PpagTQ8ogYGGDzxiK7fVfB0Fhp_CmqyXaFYbJe8/s1600/Snow1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgujZ1fLwNBQhNTOPFdX0TaG0z6_x92skjbVIyvR1-mki6ylKrfwKevi8pAP8HTXl5od5DER9IgeAswCIceyWbpL8jtezcp21qIyzp1PpagTQ8ogYGGDzxiK7fVfB0Fhp_CmqyXaFYbJe8/s640/Snow1.jpg" width="512" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First of all, let me say that I wouldn't have thought of this design as being "clean & simple" since there is so much going on in the background. However, I loved the look of the original and figured I could create something similar. I LOVE the results of my efforts! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First, I used VersaMark ink and white and silver embossing powders to emboss the snowflakes onto my water color card stock. Then, I used Distress inks and water with paint brushes to create a color wash all over the paper. I had to partially dry it with my heat gun several times, and once I was happy with that much, I used a paint brush to flick on drops of the ink for a splatter effect. I also used some Mister Huey's silver mist to flick on some drops of silver sparkle.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYr68IiznCd5LBcWuiYGrH4mqY9wkopmCWxkDmm5rVZv4vP_Xlo9hOl93O3ysS-LeZRThJSoIwmEKfQPAEQ0hxu1wWpfNEOLML0Noq2t0IE7N7EL9LKz9MK9H10ADl7kaHqC7VFNskkZo/s1600/Snow2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYr68IiznCd5LBcWuiYGrH4mqY9wkopmCWxkDmm5rVZv4vP_Xlo9hOl93O3ysS-LeZRThJSoIwmEKfQPAEQ0hxu1wWpfNEOLML0Noq2t0IE7N7EL9LKz9MK9H10ADl7kaHqC7VFNskkZo/s640/Snow2.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My panel warped quite a bit from all the water, so once it was dry, I pressed it between the pages of a book for a while to flatten it back out as much as possible. I trimmed it down and mounted it on a velum card base (something I've never done before). To hide the ugly side of the water colored panel from showing through inside my card, I cut a piece of white card stock just a teeeeeny bit smaller than my panel and adhered it inside the front of the card. I also used a white panel on the inside back as a place to stamp the inside.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the front sentiment, I die cut a stitched banner from <a href="http://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/" target="_blank">Lil' Inker Designs</a> and embossed a sentiment from <a href="http://papertreyink.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a> with silver embossing powder. I thought it needed just a little something more, so I used a Papertrey die to cut out the little snowflakes from some silver card stock and glued those down with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. To adhere my velum sentiment strip to the card front, I used very tiny dots of the same glue on the backs of the larger letters in the sentiment and also behind the die cut stars.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkBgOjrSGwK-w8GF3OMim2OZol5BlteRk4PvXsSHtgiJgsZyXNaRpimcqw57Q0rU28cFqqpg_daIyhudrMiTSmdPng_RpQZnRuom6xuI3oEQv3-xK_Xy1PcVyw4k6o3dBIUU2DfMv2kqo/s1600/Snow3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="482" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkBgOjrSGwK-w8GF3OMim2OZol5BlteRk4PvXsSHtgiJgsZyXNaRpimcqw57Q0rU28cFqqpg_daIyhudrMiTSmdPng_RpQZnRuom6xuI3oEQv3-xK_Xy1PcVyw4k6o3dBIUU2DfMv2kqo/s640/Snow3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sentiment on the inside is also from Papertrey and was stamped with PTI's Hawaiian Shores and Memento's London Fog ink.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I enjoyed water coloring on this card, which is something I don't often do because I'm too impatient to wait for things to dry. But I have to say, the end result is pretty groovy!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
TTFN!</div>

One of my co-workers is getting married and I turned her wedding invitation into an ornament for their Christmas tree. I sliced it into quarter inch wide strips and then curled them around a pen to create coils.</div>

It looks especially cool because their invitation had a pattern on the back side which shows through inside the coils. The print from the front of the invitation is on the outside of the coils. <br />

If you turn the ornament to look at it from different angles you can read the names of the bride and groom, the wedding date and location, and any any portions of the text that are visible from that angle.</div>

And a special gift needs a special box. I picked up this cute gift box from Hallmark and created the tag using stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink. I adore their Petite Places line of stamps and dies!</div>

These tiny buildings are so fun to create! And each one also comes with a die that will cut a fold-able, 3D paper building that can be stamped and then folded into an actual little building!</div>

And last, but not least, is the wedding card. I used the same little church die and some of the coordinating Scene It background dies. Those little "doves" are from the PTI In The Meadow die set. I used patterned paper from PTI and flower sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I believe the sentiment is from a PTI set, but I can't remember which one at the moment. And it is stamped onto a banner which is also a PTI die cut. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I had so much fun playing with these tiny churches and backgrounds! Someone else needs to get married so I can pull them out again! :) TTFN!</div>
